Privacy policy

The Lawn Care (ABN 79 369 208 780), based in Melbourne, Victoria, respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

When you send a quote request, we collect:

• Your name, phone number and email address
• Your suburb or postcode, and any address you type into the map tool
• Lawn size (chosen or measured with the map tool), when it was last mowed, how often you want it mowed, and any add-ons
• The day and time you request, or that you're flexible
• Any notes you add, such as gate codes, pets or access instructions
• The date and time you sent the request

Services that handle it

We're a small operation and use a few outside services to run this website:

• Map tool. What you type into the address search goes to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service, map images load from Esri, the property boundary for the address you pick is looked up from Vicmap Property (Victorian Government), and building outlines for the surrounding area load from Overture Maps. They see those requests as they would any map use. They don't receive your name, phone number or email.
• Quote requests. Your request is emailed to us through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which also sends you an automatic confirmation email. When our Google-based booking system is switched on, requests are stored in a private Google Sheet via Google Apps Script and the confirmation email comes from our Google account instead.
• Analytics. We may use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, such as which pages are visited and whether a quote request was sent. It uses cookies and doesn't receive the details you type into the quote form.

What we use it for

Only to quote, book and carry out your lawn mowing job. We don't sell or rent your details, and we don't use them for marketing unless you separately ask to hear from us.

How it's stored

Quote requests are kept in our email inbox and, when it's switched on, a private Google Sheet that only the business owner can access. This is not enterprise-grade security, so please don't put anything highly sensitive in the notes field.

How long we keep it

We don't currently delete requests on a schedule. Ask us and we'll delete your information, unless we have to keep records for tax or legal reasons, such as invoices for completed jobs.

Payment information

We don't take card payments through this website. Bookings are confirmed with a deposit paid by bank transfer, using bank details we send you after quoting. We never ask for card or bank details through the website.

Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, at any time.
